Your morning routine is the foundation of your day. Start strong by clearing your mind and setting clear intentions. Your productivity begins as soon as you open your eyes in the morning. So, starting the day off strong will help you finish with that same momentum. 

There is abundant opportunity in the morning. You’re fresh. You’re rested, and you have the willpower to refill. Don’t let that opportunity go to waste. Here is a 10 step morning routine that WILL change your life! 

 

Step 1: Mindful Awakening

  • Start gently: Avoid harsh alarm sounds. Choose a gradual wake-up light or a soothing alarm melody.
  • Stretch and breathe: Spend a few moments stretching your body and taking deep breaths to ease into the day.

Step 2: Hydration and Nutrition

  • Drink water: Kickstart your metabolism with a glass of water. Add lemon or a splash of fruit juice for flavor.
  • Nourish your body: Enjoy a balanced breakfast rich in protein and fiber. This could be oatmeal with berries, Greek yogurt with honey, or whole-grain toast with avocado.

Step 3: Movement and Energy

  • Get active: Incorporate a short workout, whether it’s a brisk walk, yoga, or a home workout routine.
  • Fresh air: If possible, spend some time outdoors to boost your mood and energy levels.

Step 4: Mental Clarity

  • Meditation or mindfulness: Practice mindfulness or meditation to calm your mind and increase focus.
  • Journaling: Write down your thoughts, goals, or gratitude to gain clarity and perspective.

Step 5: Learning and Growth

  • Read or listen: Devote time to reading a book, listening to a podcast, or learning something new.
  • Skill building: Practice a new skill or hobby to stimulate your brain and boost confidence.

Step 6: Planning and Prioritization

  • Set intentions: Define your goals for the day and prioritize tasks.
  • Visualize success: Imagine a successful day to boost motivation and focus.

Step 7: Self-Care

  • Skincare routine: Treat your skin with a gentle cleansing and moisturizing routine.
  • Personal grooming: Take care of your appearance to boost self-esteem.

Step 8: Connection

  • Social interaction: Connect with loved ones through a quick call, text, or in-person chat.
  • Gratitude practice: Reflect on things you’re grateful for to cultivate a positive mindset.

Step 9: Digital Detox

  • Limit screen time: Avoid checking your phone or emails immediately after waking up.
  • Mindful technology use: Be intentional about how you use technology throughout the day.

Step 10: Positive Affirmations

  • Boost self-belief: Repeat positive affirmations to build confidence and motivation.

But, how do you get all of that done in the morning? 

If you’re anything like me, you have difficulties waking up on time and normally don’t even get to enjoy breakfast. But remember, the goal is to create a routine that works for you and brings you joy. Experiment with different steps and find what makes you feel energized and focused. Go to sleep on time, be patient, use trial and error – You got this!
