Halloween is the one night of the year where you only need to worry about two things: choosing a costume that’s either frightfully scary or delightfully sweet, and seeing how much candy you can devour before turning as green as a goblin.

If you’re anything like me, pumpkins are already carved, halloween movies are playing on repeat, and decorations are perfectly placed. But spooky season is about more than just the entertainment and aesthetic. It’s really about letting loose and connecting with your community.

Luckily, Memphis is packed with festivities all October long, so we can extend the Halloween fun beyond just one night. Let’s dive into what the city has in store!

Monster Market | Oct. 11-16 | The Medicine Factory

“Monster Market is a freaky annual pop-up shop, appearing each October to bring you a new curated collection of weird art, hand-plucked oddities, strange apparel, and bizarre home decor!”

Halloween Hike | Oct 19. | Memphis Botanic Garden

“Give your kiddos pumpkin to talk about this Halloween! Take a hike through the Garden for some not-so-spooky fun at the Memphis Boo-tanic Garden. No bones about it, you’ll shriek for joy at this fun, safe, daytime alternative to traditional door-to-door trick or treating”
