While fine lines and wrinkles are both a part of the aging process, anti-aging treatments can help improve confidence. Xeomin and Dysport are both cosmetic injections that non-invasively combat the aging process, and Bow Tie Massage in Memphis offers Xeomin for only $13/unit and Dysport for $14/unit.
Shawanda Motlow, a Nurse Practitioner, does all cosmetic injections at Bow Tie Massage. But after she does your injections, how do you care for them?
- You can still wash your face. It’s actually encouraged to immediately wash your face afterward to ensure the injection site is clean. Be sure to use light pressure and lukewarm or cold water, and gently pat dry your face with a towel.
- Avoid lying flat for 2-3 hours after your procedure. The main reason you shouldn’t lie flat is because the injection could spread to other parts of your face. When you sit up or stand, gravity helps hold everything in place.
- Do not massage or manipulate the areas of injection. Yes, you can touch the site gently, but no, you cannot rub it. For the first 24 hours, avoid rubbing the areas of injection because that can diffuse it.
- Avoid facial procedures for at least 72 hours after the injections. Peels, microdermabrasion, facials, lying face down on a massage table, etc should all be avoided. These things can cause the Tox to migrate or diffuse, and if you have bruising or swelling, it can make it very uncomfortable.
- Avoid the use of hats or anything that would apply pressure to treated areas. This prevents the injection from reaching the cells it needs to in order for it to work.
- Avoid plucking or waxing eyebrows after injection. Wait at least 24 hours before doing anything to your eyebrows after injection. It can cause more swelling and bruising. It could also cause the injection to move.
These aftercare tips will help you prevent any unwanted side effects or migration.
