901 Day, September first, or 9/1 isn’t just a day celebrating an area code, but it’s the day where Memphians come together to celebrate our beautiful city. There are an abundance of events to choose from. Let’s break it down, so you know exactly how you’re celebrating!

 

Friday: August 30 

901 Day is only 2 days away! 

Lunchtime Meditations | Noon – 12:45 p.m. | The Dixon Gallery and Gardens 

The Dixon holds free Lunchtime Meditation sessions every Friday. It’s relaxing, freeing, and will improve your overall health. 

Canoes and Cocktails | 7 p.m. | Shelby Farms Park

Guided sunset paddle on Hyde lake followed by cocktails from Old Dominick, snacks from Cheffie’s, yard games, and music. Tickets sell out fast! 

Orion Free Concert Series ft. MonoNeon | 7 p.m. | Overton Park Shell 

MonoNeon is an experimental artist and bassist from Memphis. He’s worked with artists like Prince, Mavis Staples, George Clinton, Nas, NeYo, Mac Miller, and more. 

     

    Saturday: August 31

    901 Day Eve! 

    Memphis Farmers Market | 8 a.m. | 566 S Front St, Memphis, TN 38103

    A weekly gathering of local farmers and artisans, the Memphis Farmers Market is a non-profit outdoor marketplace located in Downtown, Memphis.

    901 Day on Broad Ave. | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Broad Avenue Arts District 

    Spend the day discovering Broad Avenue’s unique shops and businesses. Store hours vary, so plan your visit accordingly.

    Healthier 901 Fest | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Shelby Farms Park

    Family-friendly festival with activities like surprise giveaways, live music, healthy food trucks, exercise zones, cooking demos, and more for free! 

    The 49th Annual Stone Soul Picnic | Noon – 7 p.m. | Coronet

    This free event by WLOK will feature legendary musicians like The Canton Spirituals, The Mellowtones, The Sensational Wells Brothers, and so much more! 

    Orion Free Concert Series ft. Matthew Sweet (Powerpop festival) | 7 p.m. | Overton Park Shell

    Memphis Power Pop presents Matthew Sweet joined by The Sonny Wilsons and Abe Partridge for a free music festival at the Overton Park Shell.

    Happy 901 Day y’all!

    901 Day BEALE ST. x shell on wheels | 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. | Beale Street

    Ladia Yates, Mayor Paul Young, Unapologetically Memphis, Choose901, and JustMyMemphis worked together to put together this 901 Day celebration! There will be a flashmob, a fashion show, multiple performances, and BIG BOOGIE as the headliner! 

    Mimosa Festival End Of Summer | 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Fourth Bluff Park 

    Indulge in a day of fun, food, and creative mimosas at the Memphis Mimosa Festival, taking over Fourth Bluff Park for an exclusive Sunday Funday. Get your tickets now!

    $90.1 Memphis Themed Flash Tattoo Sale | 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. | Ink Therapy 901 tattoos and piercings 

    InkTherapy, the Broad Avenue Arts District tattoo studio owned by renowned Memphis muralist David Yancy III, is hosting a Memphis-themed flash tattoo sale!

    River City Jazz and Music Festival | 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. | Cannon Center for Performing Arts
